The general solution to this is to make null-termination safe. Of course, this has implications for how error codes work. A code that is null-terminated can be used to represent an error state. An error state can be represented using a code of 0, and a program might return an error code of 0, say, to signify that the user was not found. Or, the code may be the same as the error state. For example:
This design provides a configurable data bus interface for the current core to the
LiteX 2/20 or 2/50 core. This unit is only available for the LiteX
2/20 and 2/50 core IP. The interface provides a simple, single data bus for
simultaneous communication of two datawords and a single clock. The
interface also provides for configurable data bus addressing for the different
CDR inputs and outputs.
As a Note: the tree has been tweaked to fit the Empire's current scope, and will work slightly differently in a game set in antiquity, for example, as opposed to the Vanilla game, which is set in the Early Medieval Age. Also note that the tree has been slightly modified for clarity, e.g. the Star Knight Javelins are different from the ones I made in the tree in the first post, as well as the battanian Fian Champions have been given a larger role, as they are masters of Cataphracts.
If I can gather the resources to get the Romano-Persian elite unit tree, I'll probably pick them. I'm also interested in the Samurai, but they just don't have enough troops in their tree. The Mongols are cool, but they're not much more than an upgraded version of the Yuan, and they need to be counted as a Barbarian faction, which they are.
As for weaponry, the Aserai have the option to purchase spears or javelins. Javelins are typically found in the hands of light skirmishers, while Spears are found in the hands of heavier skirmishers or the Sons of the Red Lion: the Aserai Man-at-Arms. Spears are slightly more efficient than javelins and allow the skirmisher to attack longer distances, giving him the option to throw his javelins in close combat if he feels the need. Spears and javelins take the place of javelins and javelin shields in the Aserai unit tree, although they're both superior in terms of damage and efficiency. 827ec27edc
