Mobile phones offer new opportunities for health care. Increasingly, they are used to transmit patient data directly to the health system. In this paper, we discuss key issues in managing a mobile health (mHealth) database. We propose standards that allow any mHealth system to be more easily integrated with existing systems, and we describe methods for securely transmitting patient data to a central server. © Copyright 2012 IEEE. In this paper, we present a novel concept to enable emergency medical communication centers to use mobile phones to allow video calls between lay bystanders and trained professionals. We describe a structured brainstorming approach to identify all threats to information security aspects confidentiality, quality, integrity, and availability. We identified twenty security threats of different risk levels and analyze them. Then, we propose solutions to reduce the risk level of the most important threats. We found no risks to information security that would advocate against the use of video calls between lay bystanders and emergency medical communication centers. 827ec27edc
