You will asked to download and install a copy of the Windows 11 operating system to run on the virtualized environment. All ERAU students can download a free copy of Windows 11 from the ERAU WebStore.
Windows upgrades are available to students for free through the VCU On the Hub portal. Note that upon download, you are only authorized one licensed installation regardless of which version you choose.
Below is a list of software that current Rice students can obtain for free or purchase at a discounted rate. Installation on personally owned computers is the responsibility of the student. OIT is not responsible for installation on personal computers.
While Cornell's Campus Agreement does not provide Windows for personal use, instructors and students at Cornell may be able to obtain Windows Education Edition for free or at a very low cost through third-party software retailers. While CIT does not have a formal relationship with them, one such third-party retailer is On The Hub by Kivuto. To purchase software from On The Hub (link goes to a non-Cornell site), you will need to register your Cornell email address with them, and you may be required to provide proof of affiliation.
Through CSU systemwide and/or Cal State LA site license agreements with various software companies, the university provides free or discounted software to eligible students, faculty, and staff for use on their personal devices such as laptops or home computers.
